Anord Mardix are looking for an engaged and ambitious Cost Accountant to join our team in Dundalk. Reporting into the Finance Controller, you will work closely with our Project Managers to ensure margins and cost overruns/savings are highlighted early.
What a typical day looks like:
Complete project, product and customer performance analysis and presentation to key stakeholders
Loading and continuous monitoring of project budgets and forecasts
Activity budget setup for material, labour, subcontracting and sundry costs
Standard cost set up of manufactured parts
Labour costing review, journal entry preparation
Forecasting of Gross margin and early identification of cost overruns/savings highlighted
Advising executives and senior management on appropriate costing based on financial data
Monitoring of stock control and audit of weekly cycle counts
Ownership of stock valuations, review variances and own provision calculations, seeking approval for provisions and write off
Back up for calculation of monthly Work in Progress values for financial reporting and other financial month end tasks
Ownership of SOX controls related to stock and WIP
Recommend changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
Assist the finance team with process improvements
Other ad hoc duties that may be assigned to you by management
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
Professional accountancy qualification or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience, ideally within a project based company
Essential to have a strong cost accounting with manufacturing background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles and a strong understanding of ERP systems and associated processes
Excellent IT skills and excel skills
Working to deadlines with excellent attention to detail
Good communication and organisational skills are essential
Demonstrate expertise in reporting, analysing, and manipulating data for
Must have a driving licence and own a vehicle
