At Skillsoft, we believe skills fuel growth. Our mission is to empower every organization and every learner to turn constant change into continuous growth. As part of the team, your skills will help organizations understand what skills they have, what they need next, and how to apply them in ways that drive real performance and progress.

The Operations Business Partner is a key member of the Global Commercial Operations team, serving as a strategic advisor to Regional Commercial Leadership. This role balances commercial strategy, operational governance, and sales operations execution to drive scalable growth, operational rigor, and enterprise alignment.

While the role oversees core sales operations processes (planning, forecasting, performance management, and compensation governance), it operates more broadly as a commercial business partner — connecting strategy to execution across regions and functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Commercial Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Regional Commercial Leadership, providing structured insights and recommendations that inform growth strategy, market prioritization, and investment decisions.
  • Translate global commercial strategy into regional execution frameworks aligned to enterprise objectives.
  • Partner cross-functionally (Finance, Marketing, Product, Enablement, Strategy) to ensure integrated execution of commercial initiatives across the full customer lifecycle.
  • Provide forward-looking analytics and scenario modelling to guide decision-making and mitigate business risk.
  • Influence senior stakeholders by bringing a balanced perspective across revenue growth, productivity, and operational scalability.

Commercial Planning & Performance Governance

  • Lead regional commercial planning in alignment with global frameworks, including target setting, segmentation, territory design, and capacity modelling.
  • Own the regional forecasting cadence, driving accuracy, accountability, and visibility across leadership levels.
  • Establish and maintain performance management structures (KPIs, dashboards, pipeline health metrics, productivity tracking).
  • Oversee compensation and incentive governance, ensuring alignment to strategic priorities and clarity in communication.
  • Drive annual and in-year planning processes in partnership with Finance and Global Commercial Operations.

Operational Excellence & Transformation

  • Ensure consistent adoption of global commercial operating models, systems, and processes while representing regional needs.
  • Lead operational readiness for executive reviews, QBRs, and annual planning cycles, equipping leaders with actionable insights and clear narratives.
  • Champion continuous improvement across commercial workflows, tools, and governance mechanisms.
  • Support execution of strategic commercial initiatives and plays, ensuring cross-functional alignment and measurable outcomes.
  • Standardize and scale best practices across regions to improve productivity and commercial effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in commercial operations, sales operations, business operations, or strategic planning within a global enterprise environment.
  • Experience operating as a business partner to senior commercial or sales leaders.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to connect operational decisions to revenue and margin impact.
  • Expertise in planning, forecasting, territory design, and performance governance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Salesforce, Xactly, and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), with the ability to translate analytics into executive-level insights.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional global organization.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and change leadership capabilities.
  • Background in finance, FP&A, consulting, or strategy is highly desirable

Other

  • Global mindset with cultural agility; experience leading diverse, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
