Communications & Events Intern

Location: Galway and Dublin

Placement Dates: March 23rd – August 21st 2026

An internship at Fidelity Investments offers you hands-on work experience, along with structured learning to develop your professional skills and help you prepare for your future.

Our communications function plays a critical role in the company’s success and employee engagement. You will work as part of the team supporting the Fidelity Ireland organisation. The scope of this position is broad in nature requiring versatility and excellent attention to detail. You will report to the Vice-President, Ireland Communications, and, working alongside 3 team members, will be responsible for supporting several internal and external initiatives interacting with all levels of the organisation in the process.

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, reliable, self-driven and motivated team player who can work independently to achieve quality results with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. 

This position requires someone who can provide high efficiency and proactive support in a professional manner, with the ability to accommodate different working styles and prioritise their own work. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communications
  • Development of a new internal sharepoint site focused on Fidelity Ireland teams and business units.
  • Creation of internal and external content, including video, in line with established strategies and Fidelity’s style guide.
  • Prepare and review written materials including creative evites, announcements, presentations, and any other documentation that may be required.
  • Support the development of new photography and videography assets.
  • Document employees featured in external communications.
  • Events
  • Promote Fidelity’s CSR program, Fidelity Cares, to secure volunteers for giving-back events throughout the year.
  • Provide logistics support for Fidelity’s busy calendar of regional events such as Regional Town Halls and St Patrick’s Day celebrations. Events can range from 10 people to 2000 people depending on type of event.
  • Contribute creative ideas / concepts for events.
  • Coordination of Fidelity attendance at external awards and sponsored events.

  • Project Management and Measurement
  • Partner with team members to develop project plans and track progress against measured goals.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Whilst not essential, an appropriate 3rd level qualification in marketing / communications / event management would be advantageous.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong organisational skills and event management experience essential; strong time management, prioritisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent English.
  • Strong writing, editorial, communications skills. Excellent proof-reading skills with outstanding attention to detail.
  • High energy, confident individual who communicates with passion and authority.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise, problem solve, make and suggest decisions, managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Strong technical skills in particular with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Has a sense of fun!
