Who we are looking for

This Communications Intern position is offered on an 18-month fixed-term contract. We’re seeking a Communications Intern to report to the Head of Communications and support our Ireland communications programme. We are looking for someone who can write well, are highly organised, comfortable with social media and digital content tools, and enjoy working in a fast-moving, cross‑functional environment.

Why this role is important to us

This role helps bring our brand and business strategy to life in Ireland. You’ll support the delivery of internal and external communications that raise awareness of our capabilities in the Irish savings & retirement market, strengthen relationships with key stakeholders (media, industry bodies, clients), and build a cohesive local culture. As the communications team’s operational hub for Ireland you’ll play a direct part in driving brand visibility, supporting distribution activity, and ensuring consistent, compliant messaging across the business.

What you will be responsible for

  • Support the Head of Communications in delivering the Ireland communications plan, including administration, project coordination and execution of campaigns.
  • Draft, edit and proofread on‑brand copy for press releases, media replies, intranet posts, newsletters, event collateral and social channels.
  • Assist with media relations: maintain media lists, monitor Irish coverage, prepare media briefs, and coordinate responses to straightforward media enquiries.
  • Help plan and run client events, seminars, webinars and sponsorships (logistics, invites, registration, on-site support and follow-up).
  • Maintain and publish content to local social channels and the intranet, coordinating with the Central Communications team to ensure alignment and timing.
  • Conduct market and competitor research with concise briefs to inform communications activity specific to the Irish savings & retirement market.
  • Support internal communications and employee engagement activities, including assistance with Employee Resource Groups and local intranet administration.
  • Track and report basic communications KPIs (media coverage, social metrics, event attendance) and assist with budget administration.
  • Ensure all communications are compliant with company policy, relevant regulation and GDPR.

What we value for the role

  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills; exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable interest or basic knowledge of the Irish savings & retirement market (coursework, internships, research or relevant experience).
  • Comfortable using social platforms (LinkedIn, X), content management systems and MS Office; familiarity with Canva, basic photo/video editing or media monitoring tools is a plus.
  • Organised, proactive, able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks to deadlines.
  • Team player who can also work independently and take initiative.
  • A curious mindset and eagerness to learn from senior stakeholders and a global communications team.
  • Respect for compliance and ability to apply regulatory considerations in communications.
