Commercial Account Handler – Cork/Dublin/Galway

We are currently recruiting for an experienced, energetic and driven Account Handler in our Commercial Lines department and would love to hear from candidates who wish to further develop their career with us!

Our Commercial Lines team operates on an all-Ireland basis and the role can sit in our Cork, Galway or Dublin offices.

What you will do:

  • Provide full insurance broking services to our customers e.g. issuing renewal documentation including renewal comparisons and market research to ensure the best terms, finalise insurance placements and update policy schedules.
  • Assist in Mid-Year alterations and customer queries.
  • Assist with claims handling.
  • Ensure New Business/Renewal targets are achieved.
  • Identify new business opportunities and follow up by issuing quotations to the customer.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers and support them with any queries, making suggestions to them to improve their cover arrangements.
  • Maintain good file management and documentation to ensure compliance with all legal requirements, Central Bank codes and Brown & Brown Ireland procedures and business ethics.
  • Manage aged debt and premium collection.
  • Deal with insurance companies on behalf of customers including staying abreast of their risk appetites.
  • Stay up to date with market practice giving feedback to the Team in relation to market issues, including pricing, service levels and product development.

Knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience working in commercial broking OR insurance experience with a good knowledge of commercial insurances product ranges across the various markets for one or more of the following:
  • Property and Business Interruption, Employers, Public & Products Liability, Motor Fleet/Motor Trade, Professional Indemnity or Management Liability (Directors & Officers Liability, Employment Practice Liability), Cyber Liability Insurance
  • APA/CIP qualified
  • Knowledge of Central Bank compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent IT skills – previous knowledge of Relay an advantage
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills with good attention to detail
