Job DescriptionCome join the Bose Product Cloud Team! We support a mature mature cloud platform that powers critical cloud experiences for millions of Bose products.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
As a Cloud Engineer, you will work as an integral part of our Cloud Platform team that enables internal development teams that power our audio devices in the home and on the go. The ideal candidate has a strong background in cloud platform infrastructure, automation, and distributed systems, with experience across cloud services, software development, and platform operations.
A key focus for this role is on building, maintaining, and optimizing the foundational infrastructure and platform services that support Bose's cloud ecosystem.
- Maintain and enhance the core cloud platform infrastructure for large-scale, mission-critical cloud services
- Design and implement core platform components to improve scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency
- Drive platform innovation by evaluating, piloting, and implementing cutting edge cloud technologies
- Select and deploy open-source tools, and build platform services for deployment, monitoring, and operations
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues across development, test, and production environments
- Bring deep experience in software development and infrastructure management to enhance platform capabilities
- Enhance developer-facing capabilities through well-architected platform services and APIs
- Driving automation for provisioning, configuration, and life cycle management of platform resources
- Establish and promote best practices for observability, performance optimization, and security across cloud environments
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to define architectural standards and platform best practices
- Stay current with cloud infrastructure technologies, engaging in communities, and evaluating emerging approaches
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in cloud platform or infrastructure engineering roles
- Experience with public cloud providers (AWS preferred)
- Proficiency in containerization (Docker), and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and software platform design principles
- Experience designing and operating scalable, secure, and high performing Kubernetes platforms
- Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS) and encryption technologies (PKI, SSL/TLS)
- Experience with service-oriented and microservice architectures
- Strong Linux/Unix systems background with skills in automation and scripting
- Familiarity with kubernetes operators, admission control tools(OPA, Kyverno)
- Understanding of security, compliance, and operational best practices in cloud environments
- Understanding of Agile and other software development methodologies and processes
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to work across engineering teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
