Channel Partner Manager (Relationship Management)

AIB Merchant Services (AIBMS) is a prominent provider of payment solutions with extensive operations in Ireland nd the UK with card processing capabilities throughout continental Europe. Our partnerships with Independent Sales Organisations (ISO’s), Independent Software Vendors ISV’s, Payment Facilitators (Pay Facs) and fintech platforms, are a key driver of our continued growth and success, enabling us to extend our reach and deliver added value and innovation at scale.
Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Partnerships, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the growth of existing and new revenue channels within our partnership ecosystem. We are looking for a driven, commercially astute Channel Development Partner Manager to accelerate our growth across the UK and European ISO, ISV and Pay Fac landscapes. You will be responsible for identifying and onboarding new partners, negotiating commercial terms, and contributing to the overall strategic expansion of our partner network in these regions.

This role is deemed as a Controlled Function role (CF3) under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Regulations. Commitment to adhere to the IAF Conduct Standards is a requirement for this role.

What does a successful Channel Partner Manager do?

Success in this role demands a dynamic self-starter. The ideal candidate will exhibit versatility, a keen interest in payment innovations, and a profound dedication to understanding and meeting customer needs. Collaborative skills are paramount, as the role entails navigating a complex organisational landscape to achieve collective goals and uphold customer commitments. The Channel Development Partner Manager must possess innate organisational prowess, a meticulous approach to planning, and the ability to inspire and lead external stakeholders and partners towards shared strategic objectives.
Working closely with the Associate Director of Partnerships, the Channel Development Partner Manager will ensure the team meets revenue targets by prospecting, crafting proposals, and securing partnerships within the Retail ISO, ISV, Payment Facilitator channels in the UK and Europe.

What you will do:

  • Assume responsibilities for both new partner sales and relationship management.
  • Source and close new ISO, Pay Fac and ISV partnerships to drive merchant acquiring volumes.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of qualified leads through proactive outreach and industry networking.
  • Understand and articulate our acquiring product suite and commercial models and develop tailored commercial propositions aligned with partner business models.
  • Deliver against monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Provide market intelligence and feedback to shape go-to-market strategy and product development.
  • Develop and implement clear strategies and methodologies for managing existing partner relationships and all stages of new partner acquisitions.
  • Identify and cultivate marketing alliances and relationship programs to drive sales and ongoing opportunities with existing partners and manage existing partnerships to ensure retention, growth, and customer satisfaction.

What you will need to have:

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in merchant acquiring or payments sales, ideally within ISO, Pay Fac or ISV channels.
  • In-depth knowledge of the UK and/or EU acquiring market, including regulatory, scheme and pricing dynamics.
  • Proven ability to deliver new business results and manage the full sales cycle.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and EU as required.

What would be great to have:

  • Experience with gateway integrations, embedded payments, or platform-based acquiring models.
  • Background in scaling partner sales in a fintech or scale-up environment.
