Responsibilities :
Responsible for accounting activities within the organization. Assignments include maintaining journals and ledgers and preparing financial statements and reports. Duties include reviewing and approving transactions, posting entries, collecting and evaluating data, conducting analysis, and preparing reports and recommendations.
Accounting Proficiency
- Performs daily supporting accounting activities.
- Prepares journal entries.
- Prepares balance sheet reconciliations.
- Investigates and provides fluctuation analysis and explanation for financial reporting.
- Provides internal and external audit support.
Provides ad hoc requirements to stakeholders and business contacts.
Internal control proficiency
- Performs control activities on transactions such as Goods Receipt / Invoice Receipts (GR/IR), clearing accounts, Intercompany accounts, Inventory in transit account.
- Performs integrity checks.
- Performs Period End Financial Reporting controls
- Checks and monitors unposted journal entries
- Checks and monitors direct SAP journal entries
Analytical Skills
- Identifies and analyzes process/system errors/issues, follow through and close the loop.
- Identifies and implements continuous improvement initiatives.
Systems and Tools Proficiency
- Performs transactions, navigation and analysis in various ERP and Procurement systems and tools.
- Posts journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations in an accounting tool
- Performs testing and validation in quality/development environment for various systems and reporting tools
- Utilizes automation tools for daily tasks, analysis and continuous improvement.
Business Acumen
- Reviews and analyzes current or changes to the business processes and assess the impact to Lexmark's financial reporting and analysis such as change in accounting standards and policies.
Communication Skills
- Provides real-time verbal and written period close status to functional managers and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinates and collaborates within and outside the team to resolve any accounting issues encountered or open items for resolution and close the loop.
- Communicates suggestions or feedback to management team and peer for work, process and performance related concerns.
Education
Graduate of BS in Accountancy or Management Accounting or Major in Finance
Experience Critical to the Position
At least 1 year of accounting work experience
