Role:
We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Capacity Planning Engineer to join our Infrastructure Capacity Engineering team.
In this role, you will be responsible for aligning Cloudflare's supply planning strategy with infrastructure capacity needs. You will ensure the right amount of compute, networking, and storage resources are available at the right time and in the right locations to support Cloudflare's global infrastructure expansion. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the scaling of Cloudflare's infrastructure and services.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with teams from Supply Chain, Network Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, Finance, and Procurement to drive operational excellence, reduce costs, and ensure that Cloudflare continues to deliver performance at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage supply plans to keep inventory optimized, shorten lead times, and make sure suppliers can support Cloudflare's growth.
  • Handle capacity planning to ensure hardware is deployed efficiently, meeting performance, cost, and time goals.
  • Work with procurement to develop sourcing strategies that lower supply chain risks and align with our business goals and budget.
  • Team up with Infrastructure Operations and Data Center teams to speed up deployment timelines and ensure critical infrastructure is delivered on time.
  • Build and maintain models to predict infrastructure needs based on business growth and traffic trends.
  • Help scale the team's capabilities by bringing in new tools and methods to improve the planning and deployment process.
  • Identify and solve risks related to supply chain issues or capacity shortages to ensure continuous scaling.
  • Provide clear, data-based insights and recommendations to senior members and leadership to improve planning and resource use.

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in supply planning, capacity planning, demand planning, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in supply planning, optimizing supply chains, and running scenario models in complex settings.
  • Proficiency in data tools like Excel and SQL, and experience with planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with teams across different departments and global locations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and constantly look for ways to improve processes.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills to explain complex ideas simply to all levels of the organization.
