Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, the Buyer Planner will collaborate with colleagues throughout the company to achieve Best-in-Class performance for CEL and our customers. This position will be accountable for ensuring the most cost-effective and efficient delivery of all materials to support our customer projects.

The ideal candidate should possess robust analytical, planning, and communication skills, along with a comprehensive understanding of material supply management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full responsibility for the entire order lifecycle for assigned customer orders and commodities.
  • Achieve all key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets.
  • Ensure that AVL and ERP data is kept current concerning your commodities.
  • Oversee the supply chain function, managing the requirements for raw materials through to the delivery of finished goods.
  • Source essential raw material components to support production at the plant.
  • Expedite or de-expedite work and purchase orders through the ERP system.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels for designated product families.
  • Assist with the procurement of capital and indirect materials.
  • Engage in tactical vendor relationship management with key suppliers.
  • Ensure the accuracy of MRP records is maintained and updated as necessary to reflect the master data accuracy for all managed commodities.
  • Assist with production order planning and work-in-progress management.
  • Foster positive relationships with suppliers through weekly check-ins and participation in quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
  • Investigate alternative supply chain solutions to secure materials at the best possible terms, including pricing, lead times, and flexibility.
  • Provide proactive day-to-day operational support for all supply chain-related issues.

Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in a related field is preferred, along with at least two years of experience in a similar position.
  • Exceptional time management skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively plan, manage workloads, and adjust priorities as necessary.
  • Strong communication, relationship management, and negotiation abilities.
  • Robust commercial awareness and proficiency in implementing cost-saving strategies.
  • Self-driven and focused on results, with a talent for identifying and resolving challenges.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP systems (SAP Business-by-Design) and procurement processes.
  • Exemplary integrity, commitment to confidentiality, and accountability.
  • Skilled in the Microsoft suite of programs, with advanced Excel skills being an asset.
  • Able to establish strong and reliable working relationships with colleagues.
