Job Summary

The Business Development Representative (BDR) will be responsible for inbound and outbound sales prospecting, initiating the follow-up and first outreach with potential customers.  Inbound sales activities will take precedence over outbound in this specific role. They will conduct cold calls, follow up via email using Sales Enablement technology and using social selling to help book meetings. BDR’s will also take the first high-level exploratory call with prospects and pass qualified opportunities to the Enterprise Sales team using BANT methodology. They will be responsible for expanding our customer base by using prospecting strategies and technology to identify new opportunities. Business Development Representative’s will work closely with Account Executives and enjoy working with cross functional teams, especially Marketing, Sales Operations and Product. They will report to the Business Development Manager.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of our buyer personas and the needs/pains of our target market.
  • Conduct cold calls and cold emails to prospects across multiple departments.
  • Generate and qualify opportunities using the BANT methodology to hand over to Sales Representatives.
  • Write and adapt call and email scripts and outreach sequences.
  • Utilize social selling techniques to attract and source leads.
  • Update and maintain detailed notes in our CRM.
  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and execute new strategies to attract our target market.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, news, competitors, and our target market.
  • Explore and utilize various prospecting tools and software.
  • Engage in networking activities, face-to-face meetings, and other lead generation activities.


Technical Skills/Competencies

  • Minimum 1+ year of experience in an inbound or outbound-focused Business Development Representative role, Sales Account Executive, or similar.
  • Strong experience and comfort with cold-selling via email and telephone.
  • Excellent research skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated success in reaching monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Proven track record in a fast-paced, engaging technology environment, with the ability to work flexibly across a range of responsibilities.
  • Third level qualification in a related discipline.
  • Strong work ethic and a 'Can Do' attitude along with a self-starter mentality
  • Ability to make decisions and exhibit sound judgment.
  • Agility in switching between creative and analytical thinking.

Soft Skills/Nice to Have: 

  • Previous prospecting experience, supporting the growth of a B2B SaaS organization at an enterprise level.
  • Collaborative with the ability to build good working relationships with other teams.
  • Ability to create an innovative, collaborative, and supportive culture.
  • Strong focus on talent development and career growth.
