Position Description:
Are you passionate about data migration and financial technology? We are seeking a Data Migration Specialist with deep expertise in fund accounting and transfer agency operations for alternative investments. In this role, you will drive the successful onboarding of new business onto our proprietary technology platform, focusing on the extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), and reconciliation of large and complex data sets. You will play a key part in ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and alignment with client requirements, working closely with both internal teams and external clients.
What you’ll do:
Lead ETL processes for large-scale migrations of fund accounting and transfer agency data, including extraction from legacy systems, transformation to target formats, and loading into proprietary platforms;
Design and implement robust reconciliation procedures to ensure completeness and accuracy of migrated data, supporting downstream service and reporting;
Analyse fund documentation and data sets to interpret client requirements and map data migration strategies accordingly;
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Product, Technology, Operations) and external clients to ensure seamless data migration and platform adoption;
Communicate technical migration details effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences;
Provide clear time estimates for migration tasks and deliverables, supporting project planning and transparency;
Proactively identify and address blockers or unknowns in the migration process, fostering open dialogue and collaborative problem-solving;
What you bring to the table:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in data migration for fund accounting and transfer agency functions, with a focus on alternative asset classes (e.g., private equity, hedge funds, real estate);
Experience in a client-facing role within fund administration or financial technology, specifically focused on data migration projects;
Advanced proficiency in ETL processes, including data extraction, transformation, loading, and reconciliation of large and complex data sets;
Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation tasks;
Demonstrated ability to leverage SQL, Python, and/or Power Platform tools to streamline data migration processes and enhance data quality controls;
Experience with Python for data manipulation and automation of ETL and reconciliation processes;
Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) for data integration and reporting;
Strong understanding of Transfer Agency operations and their integration with fund accounting workflows;
Proven experience with fund accounting platforms, particularly Geneva and Investran;
Demonstrated ability to design and communicate technology enabled operating models for data migration;
Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) would be advantageous;
