What does a successful Business Analyst Payments do? 

A successful Business Analyst Payments at Fiserv uncovers complex client needs, translates them into clear, actionable requirements, and partners across product, engineering, and client teams to deliver reliable payments solutions. They bring precision in data mapping, clarity in documentation, and a partner mindset that helps clients focus on life while we handle the payments technology. They thrive in Agile environments and support continuous improvement across the delivery lifecycle.

What you will do:

  • Lead requirements elicitation sessions and workshops with clients and internal stakeholders to define scope and acceptance criteria.

  • Create detailed data mapping from source to target systems and validate end-to-end data flows.

  • Draft user stories, features, and acceptance criteria in JIRA aligned to Agile and SAFe practices.

  • Evaluate client requirements against existing functionality and recommend pragmatic solutions.

  • Analyze complex issues, translate them into actionable tasks, and coordinate with development and QA for delivery.

  • Anticipate post-production impacts and drive stakeholder communication for release readiness and validation.

  • Determine stakeholder roles and assess solution effectiveness using measurable outcomes and feedback.

  • Produce Business Requirements Documents, Solution Scope Documents, and visual data artifacts to support decision making.

What you will need to have:

  • Proficiency in requirements documentation, business process modeling, data mapping and validation.

  • Proficiency with Agile frameworks (SAFe preferred) and JIRA for authoring stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Strong SQL skills for data analysis and scripting to validate mappings and transactions.

  • Solid domain knowledge of payments and transaction processing, including transaction workflows and pricing.

  • Familiarity with payment message standards (ISO 8583, ISO 20022) and authorization platforms such as Base24.

What would be great to have:

  • Qualification in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.

  • Certifications such as CBAP, Agile or SAFe practitioner credentials.

  • Hands-on experience with Base24, authorization systems, or payments middleware.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and advanced Microsoft Office skills.

  • Experience with transaction pricing modeling, reconciliation, or scheme fee analysis.

  • Proactive, adaptable mindset with a strong eagerness to learn and support evolving client needs.
