Position Overview

The Associate or Senior Associate will work as part of the Stepstone Portfolio Analytics & Reporting (SPAR) team and is expected to perform Fundamental Core Responsibilities described below. The Associate or Senior Associate will work closely with senior members of the department as well as with other departments in particular Fund Accounting, Research and Investor Relations to support client deliverables and provide analytical support to the Firm’s Investment team.

Fundamental Core Responsibilities: Supports all aspects of the entire lifecycle of assigned clients’ service analytic and reporting needs. Provides daily fulfilment and coordination of client service, including scheduled and ad hoc client requests.

  • Department resource for client relationship management
  • Serve as junior or senior account manager, overseeing all aspects of the client monitoring and reporting cycle, with a focus on the Firm’s EMEA (Europe, Middle East) private debt and multi-asset client base
  • Coordinates with senior members of the team to manage and co‐execute on all client requests. Ensures continuity and minimize interruption.
  • Anticipates client needs and proactively addresses deliverables.
  • Contributes towards strategic planning for assigned clients.
  • Continuously ensure data quality for the respective client portfolios. Pro-Active monitors and raises issues.
  • Leads research and analysis for underlying fund amendments or extensions
  • Collaborates with other client teams to identify and improve best practices
  • Helps create and communicate training elements to develop Analysts/Senior Analysts on the skills required to progress to the next level
  • Contributes to the overall success of SPAR private markets data universe
  • Develops cumulative Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities to successfully complete all Fundamental Core responsibilities and qualify for Expanded Scope Opportunities as they maintain accurate, reliable and consistent results across their Fundamental Core responsibilities

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

  • Possesses a bachelor’s degree (Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business preferred)
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience preferred (ideally within Private Markets)
  • Working knowledge of financial reporting and accounting and demonstrated ability to learn new performance and portfolio reporting systems
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in English is a must (verbal and written), Proficiency in German is a plus
  • Professional designation such as CFA or CAIA is a plus
