This role is key to supporting customers with expert technical guidance, developing customised busbar solutions, and ensuring our products integrate seamlessly into our customer's systems. Overview
The Applications Engineer serves as a key technical authority for the busbar solutions business line across the EMEA region. This role blends engineering expertise, project coordination, and customer engagement to deliver tailored busbar solutions to the data centre industry. The position is responsible for developing detailed designs, ensuring compliance with performance and safety standards, and providing technical guidance throughout the entire project lifecycle. Acting as a bridge between customers, sales, and internal teams, the Senior Applications Engineer ensures every project is delivered with precision and professionalism.
Requirements
Responsibilities
· Develop complete system layouts for busduct installations using project specifications, site data, and customer drawings.
· Evaluate electrical and mechanical requirements to ensure system reliability, safety, and performance.
· Maintain deep product knowledge and stay current with emerging technologies and standards.
· Prepare comprehensive technical documentation including product datasheets, installation guides, and technical reports.
· Review project specifications and verify details such as load ratings, environmental conditions, materials, and installation
requirements.
· Collaborate with customers, contractors, and sales teams to provide pre- and post-sale technical assistance.
· Support quotation and tender processes by preparing accurate technical input and cost estimates.
· Attend customer meetings to present solutions, address project challenges, and provide progress updates.
· Guide customers and field teams through installation, troubleshooting, and system optimisation.
· Act as the technical link between engineering and sales functions, ensuring seamless communication and execution.
· Provide training for customers, partners, and internal sales personnel on products and applications.
· Support the site services team with technical support, rework coordination, and issue resolution.
· Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing technical insights and feedback with the product development team.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical Engineering (preferred).
· At least five years of experience in engineering, preferably within power distribution or related industries.
· Previous experience busbar systems.
Technical Expertise
· Skilled in Autodesk applications for 3D modelling and information management.
· Strong understanding of IEC standards and international compliance requirements.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
· Proficient in project management frameworks.
· Excellent ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely.
