The Role

Cubic is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic hands-on AI-focused DevOps Engineer who can bridge the gap between AI model production and developer experience. You’ll design and operate scalable CI/CD pipelines, LLM model deployment & observability, secure infrastructure, and tooling that empower data scientists, software engineers and the wider organisation to deliver AI-powered features and workflows quickly and safely.

The role will be a part of DevEx team in the Infrastructure and Operations group. This team creates an engineering experience for teams by streamlining tools, environments, and practices to accelerate development, create consistency in delivery, improve quality, and reduce friction across the software lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining the AI developer experience tooling (CI/CD pipelines for LLMs, cloud infrastructure for AI tooling, model packaging).

  • Designing and implementing scalable, reliable LLM deployment pipelines, by developing and maintaining reusable automation scripts and components with a variety of build and deployment automation tools, including but not limited to: git implementations (e.g. Azure DevOps/GitLab/GitHub), build runners deployment automation and IaC (infrastructure as code) scripts.

  • Working closely with Engineering Managers and architecture to align and implement best practices.

  • Pro-actively working with cross-functional teams including AI focused engineers to drive DevOps practices and tooling adoption.

  • Integrating with and expanding on Engineering Quality Dashboards and Engineering Portals to provide developer experience metrics and insights; gather feedback and drive iterative improvements, leveraging our AI solutions.

  • Building and maintaining internal business AI tooling and workflows.

Key Requirements

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, computer/electronic engineering, or related discipline.

  • 4 years’ experience in a DevEx, DevOps, Build or Release engineering role.

  • A self-starter with a proven ability to work independently, managing their own time and workload effectively.

  • Able to understand and communicate thoughts, ideas and design specifications in an unambiguous manner.

  • Can effectively communicate with leads and members of cross functional teams.

  • Comfortable presenting in front of small groups of individual contributors and leadership.

  • Experience as a Build/Release Engineer in an Agile development environment.

  • Strong experience of deploying infrastructure, applications and databases in AWS or Azure, including container and .NET Core deployments.

  • Strong experience of leveraging AWS services and automation.

  • Strong scripting and automation skills e.g (PowerShell, Python).

  • Experience on CI/CD and Blue/Green deployments.

  • Experience managing and integrating with Engineering Portals

  • Experience with any of the following build and deployment automation platforms or similar tooling: Azure DevOps, GitLab, Bamboo, Teamcity, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy.

  • Experience using Git, Gitflow (branching model).

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail

Desirable Skills

  • Ability to act as a mentoring resource for colleagues with less experience.

  • Experience using Atlassian tools, e.g., Confluence, Jira

  • Experience working in a lean engineering model

  • Strong industry experience with leading companies.

  • Additional background in a Developer role preferable

  • Cloud-based certifications will be of benefit

New hires at Cubic³ are required to work onsite five days a week during their six-month probation period to get to know the company, their team, and our ways of working. After probation, we offer a flexible arrangement of up to eight work-from-home days per month, provided it aligns with business needs and performance standards.
