The AI Consultant is part of the Optum Advisory (OA) Ireland Consulting team. This is a rapidly growing business that serves clients across the health care ecosystem. We provide on-demand access to consulting talent with unparalleled experience and combine it with premium customer care and flexible contracting, allowing clients to focus on their core capabilities and create an agile workforce that scales with the demands of their business. OA Ireland consultants combine deep healthcare expertise with AI enabled delivery approaches, leveraging data-driven tools to accelerate insights, improve decision-making, and drive measurable outcomes across complex enterprise initiatives. Engagements are delivered through a range of structured consulting delivery models that are tailored to client needs, scope, and organisational maturity.
Our consultants are engaged to support both internal teams within UnitedHealth Group and external commercial clients in one or more of the following areas:

What you will do:

• Collaborate with business and technology teams to identify issues, establish objectives, develop recommendations, and implement solutions for our clients
• Leverage AI enabled tools to support and accelerate consulting delivery activities while improving efficiency and outcomes
• Perform project management duties including work plan development, stakeholder management, and creation of engagement artifacts for clients
• Monitor, manage, and document project milestones, deliverables, and outcomes throughout the project lifecycle, proactively identifying emerging issues and driving appropriate actions to maintain project alignment and momentum
• Develop, communicate, and execute comprehensive project risk and issue management plans, including mitigation and escalation strategies to minimise impact and ensure successful delivery
• Drive outcomes without direct authority, engaging team members in a cross-functional environment
• Conduct research studies that may include collecting, analysing, trending, and presenting data and recommendations to management
• Define, develop, and document business requirements to ensure clients' needs are captured and delivered
• Work closely with Developers, Quality Assurance Analysts, Architects, Business Partners, and other Technology teams to ensure requirements and design are completely understood
• Assist in quality assurance and user acceptance testing by writing test scripts, executing test cases, and documenting defects
• Effectively build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients
• Provide clear communications (oral and written) and share knowledge at all levels of the organisation
• Ensure that the engagement performs consistently with expected client value and internal financial targets

What you will bring:

• Demonstrated experience in Project Management, Product Management, or related roles within healthcare environments
• Proven experience driving process improvement initiatives and delivering measurable business outcomes
• Proven experience developing project deliverables and managing complex workstreams within client-facing environments
• Proven experience working within Agile teams and applying Agile methodologies to project delivery
• Demonstrated working knowledge of CA Agile, Rally, Jira, or similar project management and work-tracking tools
• Proven experience leveraging AI-enabled tools, including Generative AI, automation technologies, or advanced analytics platforms, to enhance productivity, decision-making, and deliverables

Other useful skills and experience:

• Agile, Scrum, or related professional certification
• Proven experience working with nationally recognized consulting firms or healthcare payer and provider organizations
• Proven experience across all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Proven experience within digital health or consumer digital products and services
• Proven experience working within large, matrixed organizations
• Proven ability to work effectively within highly technical and fast-paced environments
• Demonstrated solid interpersonal skills
