Role Summary

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Client Funds Reconciliations team, which is responsible for efficient control and management of customer cash, the safeguarding of which is an integral part of Flutter’s strategy.

The role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a reconciliation team, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of customer deposits and withdrawals, and handling funding requests.

The position will also involve closing the processor reconciliations at month end, helping to ensure that the team delivers to the deadlines required.

In addition, there will be opportunities to work on key projects to integrate and align ways of working across the Flutter Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of a team of analysts, driving their personal development.

  • Management of the analyst rota to deliver the daily, weekly and monthly objectives of the team.

  • Review and sign off the procedure control sheet, assigning actions as necessary.

  • Delivery of completed month end recs in line with month end timelines.

  • First point of escalation for the rest of the team regarding problem reconciliations and other daily issues as and when they occur.

  • Support on delivery of projects impacting Client reconciliations.

  • Play a key role in onboarding new processors and reconciliations.

  • Support the Team Manager in delivering daily, weekly, and monthly reports and deputize when required.

  • Coordinate with the Treasury and Payment teams to ensure adequate funding of Ewallets.

  • Liaise with various stakeholders, including Finance, Treasury, Operations, and external processors, to resolve reconciliation issues and discrepancies.

  • Effective and timely communication with the Team Manager, including reporting of any material financial exceptions and liabilities as they arise.

  • Managing relationships across geographical locations, with many key stakeholders being situated in Dublin, London, Isle of Man & Gibraltar.

  • Awareness of the financial control framework, identifying and highlighting any potential risks.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven ability to lead a team.

  • Strong educational background.

  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles.

  • Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, combined with a proactive approach to work and a desire to progress.

  • Proficient in use of standard IT packages (especially Excel).

  • Experience and working knowledge of an automated reconciliation tool.

  • Professional, combined with good time management, organisational and multi-tasking skills.

  • High level of attention to detail and trustworthiness, due to sensitive nature of customer information.

  • Proactivity and innovation – capacity to take the initiative to identify improvements in process and assist management in implementation.

  • Articulate, with the ability to communicate both within the team and to members of the wider business in a concise manner.

  • Flexible, enjoying a frequently changing and fast paced environment
