Abbott Ireland Financial Services Cherrywood Dublin
Abbott’s EMEA Finance Shared Services centre commenced operations in Cherrywood, Dublin in October 2015. From this location, Finance Shared Services provides processing and expertise, in local languages, to Abbott divisions and affiliate companies across EMEA. The core services are in Record to Report, Order to Cash, Source to Pay and Master data management. The Financial Shared Services hub is part of Corporate Finance and has regional counterparts in the US and in Singapore.
We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Accountant who will work within the Record to Report team, looking after the European markets with our outsourced partners.
The successful candidate will join the Shared Services Centre based in our EMEA Shared Services Hub in Cherrywood, Dublin.
Reporting to the team Lead, this position will be responsible for the financial accounting for one or more entities within the EMEA Abbott.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibility for the monthly general ledger close activities for US GAAP
Review and preparation of monthly reconciliations & journals to ensure high quality compliance with US GAAP
Responsibility for monthly inventory reconciliations and related controls
Responsibility for oversight of PR creation and management for regions
Complete SOX controls in line with control matrix and support internal/external audit activities.
Support of outsourced business partner
Maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders as well as providing ad-hoc support when required
Perform analytics to ensure accuracy of financial information as required
Identify opportunities for improvement of processes and work on key team projects
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Accounting Qualification preferred – ACA, ACCA, CIMA
1-2 years relevant experience – preferably with Shared Service Centre and multinational corporation background
SAP or other major ERP Systems experience is desirable
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential
Able to work alone to understand and summarise financial data into high quality, accurate and usable summaries
Strong computer skills especially MS Office
Ability to challenge the status quo and have a positive, proactive attitude
