Develop and maintain backend database infrastructure powering Squarespace’s platform. Build automation and tooling in GCP, improve performance and scalability across MongoDB, CockroachDB, and Kafka, and design and provision infrastructure for new product capabilities. Collaborate across engineering teams, lead complex technical projects, participate in design reviews, influence architecture, and mentor junior engineers.

Manage and grow a Database Engineering team responsible for backend infrastructure (databases and streaming). Hire, mentor, and evaluate engineers; drive architectural decisions and cross-functional roadmaps with Product, Design, and other teams. Promote an inclusive, high-performing culture and ensure scalability, reliability, and strong developer experience.

Owns international go-to-market and marketing strategy execution across European markets. Responsibilities include identifying channels, customers, and messaging; managing local agency partnerships; conducting market and competitive research; developing content and AEO strategies; executing events; and identifying new marketing and distribution channels. The role translates global strategy into local execution, operates independently, and requires travel across Europe, particularly Germany and France.

Lead investigations and incident response using SIEM and SOAR, design detection alerts, perform threat hunting across endpoints, network, application and logs, analyze compromises and malware, build playbooks and security tools, share findings to improve product/security posture, and mentor junior team members.
