Enterprise AI company Workday plans to invest €175 million over three years in establishing a Dublin-based AI Centre of Excellence.

The move will expand Workday’s EMEA headquarters, which is moving into a state-of-the-art facility at College Square, Dublin 2 and will include a new Customer Experience Centre. The expansion is expected to enable continued growth in Europe and provide an immersive space for customers to collaborate with Workday’s product experts.

The company, which offers a platform businesses use to manage HR, finance and AI agents, employs 2,200 people in Dublin. As part of its AI Centre of Excellence investment, Workday aims to hire across an additional 200 specialized roles, with a focus on leveraging regional AI, cybersecurity, engineering and research expertise.

More than 300 current Workday employees will also have access to upskilling opportunities through Technology Ireland Digital Skillnet’s AI Business Academy. Meanwhile, Workday’s Industry Fellowships initiative will collaborate with local universities and Research Ireland to embed post-doctoral researchers across Workday’s R&D teams, and the Workday Innovation Network will build partnerships with Irish AI startups, SMEs and industry leaders.

“Dublin has been a cornerstone of Workday’s innovation for close to two decades. This latest investment will power our next chapter — pioneering the next generation of ERP, built for the AI era,” Graham Abell, Workday’s vice president of software engineering and Ireland site lead, said in a statement.
