Dublin-based “drinks tech” startup Tipple has raised about $4.7 million in seed funding to modernize the global alcohol trade. The round was led by Quadri Ventures, with additional backing from Form Ventures and 7percent Ventures.

According to reporting by EU-Startups, Tipple was founded by Eoin Bara after he discovered the outdated and inefficient nature of cross-border alcohol distribution while exporting his own craft spirit brand, prompting him to create a drinks tech platform to streamline procurement, logistics and payments in the industry.

With over 500 brands already using the platform, Tipple plans to use the new funding to enhance its technology and expand internationally.
