Sony Interactive Entertainment, the technology company known for developing the PlayStation game console, announced the opening of a new office in Dublin.
Its Ireland facility will focus on R&D in projects that leverage tech, digital tools and data to optimize digital operations, customer and employee servicing and external operations. The company intends to hire 100 local employees.
“Establishing a presence in Dublin allows Sony Interactive Entertainment access to top-tier talent in digital innovation and technologies, in a region I know full well is ready to support our innovative approach to interactive entertainment. We’re excited to contribute to Dublin’s vibrant economy and looking forward to bringing onboard bright minds at all career levels,” Paul Walsh, Sony Interactive Entertianment’s SVP, head of digital technology, engineering, IT and operations, said in a statement.
