Core to the AI transformation that is underway at Pfizer, the AI Pipeline Management team is working to oversee and optimize the AI product development pipeline, ensuring AI becomes a foundational building block to drive impact and value across the organization.
As a Release Train Engineer, you will facilitate the development of a portfolio of highly visible AI products, bringing your advanced knowledge of agile principles to manage comprehensive backlogs, remove blockers and navigate complex project environments to achieve development goals. You will be accountable for ensuring the product owner, engineering leads and development teams maximise AI product value across the portfolio. This role is responsible for ensuring the team lives agile values and principles, following the processes and practices to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of products and solutions.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate the development of AI products, acting as servant leader to deliver high value solutions across the organization.
  • Support collaboration and alignment between product owners, teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Embed and drive program level processes, including facilitation of Agile Release Train (ART) events, smooth execution of PI Planning, Iteration Planning, and Scrum of Scrums, to ensure effective communication and synchronization across teams.
  • Promote continuous improvement through guidance on ways of working and leverage performance measurements to improve agile maturity across teams.
  • Manage dependencies and risks. Identify and resolve bottlenecks that may impede the progress of the AI product development across the pipeline. Monitor and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies that may impact delivery.
  • Provide transparency on progress and risks through maintaining effective communication with all levels of the organization, including senior leaders.
  • Build effective scrum teams, collaborating with and providing training as needed to scrum masters.
  • Assist in developing capacity planning, identifying areas for process improvement, and implementing solutions to optimize the AI product development pipeline.
  • Champion and facilitate adoption of agile standards, tools, and best practices; help the team embrace agile core values, adopt and apply those principles, and implementation practices.
  • Support the team with utilization of agile tools i.e. Jira, Confluence etc


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology Management or relevant disciplines.
  • 7+ years of experience including 3 years of experience as a Release Train Engineer or a similar position, working with functional/technical teams of contract or colleague resources.
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, concepts and theories of agile disciplines (i.e. scrum, Kanban).
  • Provides resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems.
  • Ability to operate independently in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to make decisions guided by policies in non-standard situations.
  • Excellent skills in planning, analysis, oral and written communication, consensus building, facilitation, negotiation, and the ability to readily learn a new business area.
  • Able to work effectively with dispersed, remote and global teams when needed.
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant experience in product development relating specifically to AI, or experience working in the field of AI
  • Have demonstrated ability and experience in technology solutions delivery in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment
