Job Title: Revenue Accounting Senior Manager
Location: Dublin Ireland (Hybrid) 3 office days in Dublin 15.
Reports To: Global Revenue Controller

Job Summary:


The Revenue Accounting Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing the accurate recognition, reporting, and forecasting of revenue & Cost of Sales in compliance with accounting standards, such as ASC 606 or IFRS 15. This role will manage the end-to-end revenue process, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure that financial results are accurate and timely. The role also involves leading a team, working with senior leadership, and supporting audit and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Revenue Recognition & Reporting:

  • Oversee and ensure timely and accurate revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606/IFRS 15.
  • Review and analyze revenue for contracts, ensuring they are compliant with accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Review and approve revenue schedules, including deferred revenue accounts.
  • Ensure accurate month-end and quarter-end revenue close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Support external audit and internal reporting requirements by preparing required documentation for revenue recognition and disclosures.

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Manage and mentor a team of revenue & cost accounting professionals.
  • Lead the hiring, development, and performance management of the revenue accounting team.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.

Collaboration & Cross-functional Support:

  • Work closely with Sales, Legal, Finance, and other teams to ensure accurate contract reviews and revenue forecasting.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on revenue recognition and provide guidance on complex revenue issues.
  • Collaborate with IT and other teams to implement system improvements related to revenue recognition processes.

Process Improvement & Systems Management:

  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the revenue accounting process.
  • Participate in system implementation projects to ensure compliance and scalability.
  • Ensure all revenue-related processes comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and internal controls.

Financial Forecasting & Analysis:

  • Collaborate with FP&A teams to provide accurate revenue forecasting and insights into revenue performance.
  • Analyze trends, variances, and opportunities to maximize revenue and margin performance.
  • Support management in preparing ad-hoc reports and presentations.

Qualifications:

Education: bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; ACCA, CIMA CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in revenue accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in managing medium to large teams.
  • Strong understanding of ASC 606, IFRS 15, and revenue recognition principles.
  • Experience working in the technology or SaaS industries is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) and strong Excel skills.
  • Experience with revenue recognition systems such as Oracle Fusion RMCS.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, Business Objects) is an advantage.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
