The Role & What You Will Be Doing
Assisting with design, specification, and research activities being carried out to progress the development of drug delivery products within the GDD portfolio, and to help develop the tools and processes of DDI relating to design, prototyping, CAD data management and risk management activities.
The purpose of the role is to participate in combination product design and development within multi-disciplinary teams by assisting with design and other DDI-led activities, with the support of the DDI team.
Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Design Engineer Student Placement (DDI) role will make an impact:

Assessing sample components and devices hands-on to understand the design intent, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement or customisation

Assisting with updates to drawings of parts and assemblies as required within CAD

Compiling specifications, bill of materials, technical reports, design risk assessments to support the development activities of the programme teams and to help close actions from change controls.

Preparing design control documentation to the required standard, with guidance and support from the DDI team, working within the design controls for compliance.

Completing and presenting an intern project relating to the design and build of a rig to aid disassembly of an inhaler or another topic relevant to DDI activities.
