About the Role:

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for the retention and sales of Gas, Electricity and Energy Services & Solutions to business customers. You will be targeted on the profitable delivery of energy contracts within your customer base along with acquisition of I&C and SME customers. Your key priority will be to ensure customers have a single point of contact within Bord Gáis Energy.  Building and maintaining excellent customer relationships while maximising margin opportunities is a significant focus of this role.

Key responsibilities include maintaining the growth and retention of market share through both electricity and gas customers, achieving monthly, quarterly and annual sales quotas. You should be able to build and maintain excellent customer relationships – advising and briefing customers of energy industry updates and trends. Responsibilities also include collating and distributing customer insights and market intelligence, managing and negotiating commercial terms and contracts and promoting and identifying Energy Efficiency opportunities.  You will manage overall service delivery to customers, which requires high levels of cross functional activity with Assets and Trading, Operations and Finance. Finally you will continually update information and refresh data on the CRM system.

About You

  • Strong understanding of business with relevant qualification

  • Energy industry experience strongly preferred

  • Display a keen aptitude for developing and maintaining customer relationships

  • Management of large complex customers in the energy or similar market

  • Ability to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders

  • Ability to work with cross functional teams within the business

  • Proven sales experience

  • Strong territory management experience

  • Account management and business development skills
