Associate Systems Engineer – Secure Data Exchange (Dublin, Hybrid)

GTreasury empowers CFOs and treasurers with the clarity to act — delivering connected, intelligent solutions for cash forecasting, liquidity management, payments, netting and risk.

We are currently looking to add an Associate Systems Engineer to join our Connectivity Support team, focusing on the configuration, automation, and maintenance of our secure file transfer systems (SFTP) products. This role serves as a foundational entry point into operational engineering.

What We’re Looking For:

The successful candidate will begin by supporting and enhancing our robust managed FTP ecosystem, while gradually expanding into reliability engineering, automation, observability, and operational tooling development and management.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong sense of ownership, a curiosity about systems’ behavior, and an interest in how infrastructure choices can be leveraged to enhance the implementation, maintenance, and support experience of both internal and external customers.
A successful candidate is one that has a natural ability to balance multiple demands with a fast-paced team, work within a high-growth and constantly evolving environment, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders and customers.
Candidates will work closely with internal and external clients as needed to facilitate the implementation of secure content exchange between Gtreasury and external parties.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist in setting up secure FTP connections, including key-based authentication (SSH), UID/KEY setups, and PGP encryption workflows.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot operational issues such as failed transfers, file mismatches, authentication errors, and expired or rotated keys.
  • Facilitation of seamless key renewals and\or replacements
  • Maintain, extend, and eventually own PowerShell tooling used for connection setup, job validation, credential cleanup, and key lifecycle enforcement.
  • Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting workflows with clarity and consistency.
  • Collaborate with back-end services teams to ensure all SFTP jobs meet security, compliance, and reliability requirements.
  • Develop and support automation tools that improve reliability, reduce manual intervention, and scale support processes.
  • Contribute to operational monitoring by enhancing log analysis, telemetry collection, and failure pattern detection.
  • Propose and implement improvements to implementation\deployment workflows, connection hygiene, and job resilience.
  • Participate in internal audits and learn to apply engineering principles to compliance, security, and reliability goals.
  • Engage in root cause analysis and postmortem documentation for incidents related to FTP job failures or infrastructure issues.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Foundational understanding of FTP, SFTP, and secure authentication principles, including conceptual knowledge of algorithms and ciphers.
  • Foundational understanding of PGP, including conceptual knowledge of algorithms and ciphers.
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell or other scripting languages.
  • Exposure to PGP or SSH key workflows, including generation, encryption, and key management hygiene and security.
  • Basic SQL proficiency (enough to query configuration tables, troubleshoot joins, and investigate job metadata).
  • Comfortable on Windows systems (file permissions, scheduled tasks, remote diagnostics).
  • Ability to read and interpret logs to identify failure points.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD concepts, and system monitoring basics.
  • Exposure to OpenSSL, PuTTYgen, GnuGPG, or other encryption/key generation and management tools.
  • Interest in infrastructure-as-code, logging frameworks, and/or performance instrumentation.
  • Conceptual understanding of fault tolerance, retry logic, and service availability concepts.
  • Ownership-first mindset with a focus on operational excellence.
  • Eager to learn both the “what” and the “why” behind systems behavior.
  • Ability to think like both a troubleshooter and a builder.
  • Clear and concise communicator—written, spoken, and in logs.
  • Respects process but looks for opportunity to improve it.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent competency in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related

What You Will Get:

  • Great benefits, culture, and the ability to work remotely
  • A high impact, high visibility role at a growing SaaS company that values personal growth, accountability, and the concept of “good work.”
  • A great management team and reporting structure that supports you and your growth
  • A culture of open collaboration and problem solving
  • An empowered role on the Connectivity / TechOps team, responsible for driving excellent business results
