About the Role

Maintain the integrity and accuracy of transactions in the general ledger, in accordance with generally accepted accounting procedures, under Greek GAAP and IFRS and ideally USGAAP, internal accounting policies, and local legislation

Prepare tax returns, analyze tax regulations, monitor industry trends, and complete tax reports

Communicate with tax authorities

Offer support and guidance during audits

Use accounting procedures to identify any potential risks for fraud
-
Show commitment to the adoption of right first time and continuous improvement practices to improve the function

Build strong business interaction and communications with internal customers
-
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned

Perform daily and monthly reporting related tasks

Participate in the preparation of the financial statements

Perform diverse and non-routine accounting functions of a complex nature

Actively seeks opportunities to enhance performance and quality of department and general processes, makes recommendations and implements as directed
About you
-
University Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. A Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting is desirable
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role. Experience within the Fintech/payments industry would be beneficial
-
In-depth knowledge of tax laws and statutory regulations
-
Excellent command of the Greek/ English language (both written and verbally)
-
Tech Savvy, proficient in MS Office. Knowledge of SAP / Oracle is desired
-
Advanced level of proficiency of Greek GAAP and IFRS.

CIMA/ACCA/IFRS/ACA Certification would be a plus
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to quickly adjust to shifting priorities, multiple demands and change

Strong problem-solving and skills and hands on approach

Highly organized, with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to multi task

Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills
